Yesterday (Monday)’s workout: Les Mills Combat: Combat 30 LIVE.
I decided to do something different yesterday. My idea was to do two hours of exercise but it was too late at night and frankly I was too tired. Consequently I decided to mix things up a little.
Yesterday was the first time that I’ve done the LIVE version of Combat 30. It is, as I expected it would be, quite a bit more involved than the standard version. It’s also a lot of fun. They’re performing on stage in front of an audience rather than to the camera, so they’re able to express much more personality.
The intensity is easily above the standard 30 minute workout and includes movements (techniques, exercises, whatever you want to call them) that are not found in the “Combat 30”. Some are familiar, but most aren’t.
If it wasn’t so short, Combat 30 LIVE would be a real contender for my favorite workout. It’s fun and packs a quick punch, with more martial arts inspired moves than you’ll see in Combat 30.
The live version is going to replace the standard Combat 30 in round 2 this year.
