I went on a light stroll this evening just to enjoy the night air and relax a bit.

Today’s run was a little… interesting? Running outside brings some unexpected external issues, and I had to use the pause button a couple of times.
The first time was at a house where it sound like there was a potential domestic issue. I listened for a few minutes to determine if I should call the cops or not, but I think that it was your basic sibling stuff.
The second time was in the park where there was someone walking their dog, so I paused for a moment to determine if the dog would get excited because someone ran passed them.
Other than those two issues, I managed to actually lightly jog the majority of the 1.4 miles. That frankly surprised me. When set out I didn’t expect to be able to do most of it, but I decided that I would do as much as I could. Today was pleasantly surprising. I jogged almost non-stop for the entire duration, with the only exceptions being those two moments.
Oh, and I did stop briefly a third time as someone asked me if I had seen their dog, and I told them that I would try to get the dog back to their house if I saw her at the park. I didn’t pause RunKeeper for that, though. I also didn’t see the dog, but I looked around the park as I jogged around it.
Lastly, I managed to set a new PR, which surprised me quite a bit. I don’t know how RunKeeper handles the pause, but I attempted to keep everything as accurate as possible. Today’s pace was 14:12 min/mi over 1.4 miles, besting my previous PR of 14:24 min/mi over 1.9 miles.

The weight that I use for lawnmowers is too easy, yet I use the same dumbbell for other lifts. I’m not sure if it’s yet worth the time to swap the plates out each time since it works fine as-is in everything except for lawnmowers.
Also: DING! lvl 22. :p

This is what it comes down to. Sometimes, “you” is all you have to keep you going. Haters may hate, but you know you better.
Not sure if you can really see the difference. This is after four months of eating clean and exercise. (Taken about three weeks ago).
I have started running now too, which I’m super excited about!
the difference is super obvious. Congrats!
Fitocracy is bugging out on me and it isn’t posting my workouts to Tumblr. Hopefully this screen shot will work.
Total calories burned: Approximately 630 calories or more.
Personal record: 14:24 mins/mi average (yes, beginner).
My run for today is finished. I’m waiting for the TV to be free so that I can do P90X: Plyometrics, then I’ll be able to post both to my Fitocracy.

Today I made a PR for my pace at a “whopping” 14:24 mins/mi average, though the website is rounding this up to 14:25. Total time out: 28 minutes. 1.94 miles.
edit: Previous pace was 14:37
Runner peoples! What’s a good, free alternative to RunKeeper? RK’s schedules insist that I work my life around their schedules (eg; I have to start on the date that THEY specify rather than when it works into MY schedule). This is not acceptable.
Ergo I need a good, free alternative to RunKeeper that basically does the same thing as RunKeeper, but doesn’t expect me to change my life to fit when they think is a good time to start a particular activity.
Thanks!

P90X: Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps. I’ve rated this at maximum intensity because I increased the weights in two or three lifts in addition to increasing the intensity in some of the push-up routines. I could barely hit 7 reps in one of the lifts, pushed myself until I was unable to go beyond half way in some of the push-up routines, and did some (sloppy) one armed push-ups for the first time ever. Good times.
(edit: wow, Fitocracy’s new interface preview is still super buggy)

This week was not as efficient as it could have been. In looking back over my FItocracy entries for this week I’m surprised that I’ve only worked out 4 out of the 7 days. That’s not acceptable, and I’ll have to keep myself on the ball this coming week.
Missing the two days wasn’t entirely without reason. In one case it was only a Stretch X routine. The other was quite frankly a case of not eating enough, so I wouldn’t have been able to physically do the workout. No, that wasn’t an eating disorder issue. It was a money issue. I didn’t have enough in the house to eat.
Of the workouts that I did do:
Today (May 12th): Kenpo X.
I made today’s Kenpo X routine a little more intense by adding in some plyo. Instead of simply doing the “doubles” quickly, I turned them into a process of forward jump + technique + immediately jumping back. Kenpo X tends to be a little too easy and I don’t have the money for body weights, so I modified the workout to add intensity.
May 10th: Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps:
Friday’s exercise was very rough. My body was tired, I didn’t have quite enough fuel to do a workout but I did it anyway. Pushing through and making it happen was the theme of the day, but obviously there were no increases in the amount of weight used.
May 8th: Back & Biceps:
There wasn’t anything note worthy about Wednesday’s workout. I lifted heavy things and put them back down for 50+ minutes. It felt good. No problems, no additions.
May 7th: Plyometrics:
Tuesday’s workout essentially foreshadowed the rest of the week. The temps are increasing and it had rained, leading to an increase in humidity. This in turn caused complications with my asthma. I pushed through as much as I could, but was ultimately only able to do 29 minutes of P90X Plyometrics that day. As I recall I used my so-called “rescue inhaler” twice that evening.
Asthma is usually not a significant problem for me, but I do have days where it hits and I will need to step out of that evening’s exercise. It’s simply an issue that I work around. Like Tony says in the P90X videos, you can’t let your ego get in the way.
That was week 10. I’m hoping that week 11 will be much better, but I am a little uncertain. I’m beginning my running training and there’s rain in the forecast, so we’ll see how it goes.
Thankfully this is not the norm for me. Most weeks go much better than this one.

Think you can beat me, or want to comment?
I mentioned this on my Fitblr, but I plan to begin my 5K running training this coming Monday. I’ll need to put together a new workout schedule this weekend anyway. We’re scheduled to have storms this coming week, but it’s Kansas, what can you do. I’ll do as much as I can.
